Rex Parker Does the NYT Crossword Puzzle

So my membership to the NYT Crossword Puzzle has expired. I used to attempt the puzzle at work every day at lunch, but have since gotten too busy. I remember completing the puzzle successfully only once and it was a Monday (the puzzles get harder over the course of the week...watch out come Friday). Etsy

You may not know about the site, Etsy. I can't even remember how I found it. Possibly a friend was selling items on it. Anyhow, it is a craft/artist type site where there are many folks out there selling their wares. I haven't bought anything off of it yet, but have contemplated a purchase many times. I do take pottery classes now and make beaded jewelry in my spare time. Maybe I will take a chance and try to sell my goods on the site.

Daily Candy

This site has been around for a while, but I was clued into it about a year ago. At least once a week I am sent something of interest (new stores, new restuarants, etc). The Weekend Guide is a nice email to review every Thursday. It has a good list of going-ons in your city for the weekend. Enjoy the sweetness of the daily candy!

Bed, Bath & Beyond

I don't know if this is true for all BB&Bs, but the one near me accepts expired coupons for everything. For instance, today my sister and I went shopping there to get her some towels. I brought my coupons. My sister had 8 items and I had 8 expired 20% off a single item coupons. She was able to use all the coupons, one per each item she was buying. She saved $30.

I always considered BB&B way overpriced. Not anymore. Once you apply all those coupons, the prices are a lot more reasonable!

Settlers of Catan

I created this blog this past summer, but haven't posted to it (except for the highly original "testing" post). Anyhow, I will attempt to post daily (or realistically, weekly) with tid-bits and items of interest. Items of interest being items that are interesting to me and maybe to you. So here we go with the first installment...

I just finished playing Settlers of Catan on my computer. The game is a combo of Risk and Monopoly and easily addictive. This is your warning! I was introduced to the game when my sister and brother-in-law brought it to Thanksgiving last year. My family is a game family. You should see us play Charades!
